It contains information on the more than 585 shopping centers and commercial parks currently in operation. In the directory you can find a file with complete information on each center or retail park, you can filter your search geographically or by management company, owner or marketer. You will be able to know, among other things, how the public accesses the asset, how many parking spaces there are or their pet admission policy; you have ESG information knowing which certifications the center or park has obtained, the electric vehicle recharging spaces, if the center generates its own energy and how much of it is dedicated to self-consumption.
This data collection, obtained after an exhaustive fieldwork, allows the analysis and the realization of statistical summaries.

DEFINITION OF SHOPPING MALL

According to the European standard, developed by the European Research Group of ICSC, currently ECSP, a Shopping Center is a group of independent commercial establishments, planned and developed by one or several entities, with unity criteria, whose size, commercial mix, common services and complementary activities are related in their environment, and which permanently has a unitary image and management. Its gross leasable area (GLA) must be greater than 5,000 m².

This is a Commercial Activity Park that has a common urbanized space, carries out retail commercial activities, and is mainly made up of medium and large retail outlets. Their gross leasable area (GLA) must be greater than 5,000 m².

Classification of Shopping Centers

This typological classification uses the criteria adapted to the new common European framework for the classification of commercial assets, agreed upon by the European shopping center and retail park associations.

TRADITIONAL FORMATS

VERY LARGE

Shopping Center with more than 79,999 m² of GLA.

LARGE

Shopping Center from 40,000 m² up to 79,999 m² GLA.

MEDIUM

Shopping Center from 20,000 m² to 39,999 m² GLA.

SMALL

Shopping Center from 5,000 m² to 19,999 m² GLA.

BASED ON HYPERMARKET

Shopping center based on a hypermarket.

SPECIALIZED FORMATS

RETAIL PARK

Commercial Activity Parks, which have a common urbanized space, carry out retail commercial activities, and are mainly made up of medium and large retail stores.

FACTORY OUTLET CENTER

A shopping center, usually located on the periphery or in tourist areas, made up of a group of stores of manufacturers and brands, which sell their own products at a discount.

LEISURE-BASED CENTER

A shopping center composed mainly of establishments dedicated to leisure, restaurants and free time, which usually has a cinema complex as its main locomotive.

COMMERCIAL GALLERY

Urban shopping mall with up to 4,999 m2 of GLA, which, due to its characteristics, deserves to be highlighted.
